How it works

How a VerifAI check works

From photos to a report in four steps, and how to read the result.

01

1. Choose the category

Pick one of ten categories: clothing, bags and accessories, jewellery, art, antiques, electronics, perfume and cosmetics, books, toys or stamps. Each category has its own check, written for the details that matter for that kind of item.

02

2. Upload clear photos

Use good light and no filters. Photograph the front and back, the logo or engraving, stitching and hardware, inside labels and codes, and the packaging or receipt if you have them. The more of the item VerifAI can see, the more it has to go on.

3. VerifAI looks at the details

VerifAI AI, given instructions for your category, look for signs that the item is genuine or counterfeit: logos, stitching, materials, labels and codes. Where there is enough market data, VerifAI also estimates what the item usually sells for and flags an asking price that looks too low.

04

4. Read your report

You get a verdict, a confidence level, the details the verdict is based on and a price estimate. A deep scan adds a fuller report and a certificate you can share as a link; whoever you send it to can open it without an account.

Which check to use

A quick scan gives you a verdict and the key findings. A deep scan looks further and produces the full report and certificate. Compare puts two or three items side by side, which helps when you are choosing between listings or checking an item against one you know is genuine.

06

For business teams: document checks (beta)

Teams can also check invoices, certificates, supplier documents and labels. VerifAI flags missing or inconsistent details, and unclear cases go to your organisation's own review queue, where a person on your team makes the final decision.

What a result is, and what it isn't

A result is an AI opinion based on the photos and documents you provide. It is not a legal guarantee of authenticity. For high-value items, use it alongside the seller's documentation and your own judgment, and ask a professional authenticator if you are still unsure. If a result is unclear, retake the photos in better light and run the check again.

Your photos and data

Photos and documents are sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. You can delete items from your history at any time.
